ESCANENO

Rideability, Genetics, Perspective

Escaneno combines exceptional riding-horse quality with outstanding pedigree. Bred by Tobias Schult and jointly owned with Klosterhof Medingen, he impressed from the very beginning with his extraordinary rideability and willingness to perform—confirmed in 2025 with a 7th place in the Final of the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses.

Sporting Excellence with Remarkable Consistency

As a son of Escamillo, Escaneno completed his short performance test in 2022 as best of his group with a weighted final score of 9.03. His individual scores highlighted his exceptional quality:

  • Trot: 9.0

  • Canter: 8.5

  • Walk: 8.3

  • Rideability: 9.8

  • Willingness to perform: 9.5

In 2023, he once again finished as test winner in his sport test, receiving a 9.5 for rideability and a weighted final score of 9.09. In 2024, he confirmed his consistency with another top result (8.97).

At the Hanoverian Riding Horse Championships in Verden, Escaneno qualified for the Bundeschampionat. Under Jacob Schenk, he finished Reserve Champion in the final with an overall score of 8.36—at only his third competition appearance. He had already secured his ticket to Warendorf earlier that season by winning in Neustadt/Dosse with a score of 8.56.

At the 2024 Bundeschampionat, Escaneno placed 5th in the final qualification for five-year-old dressage horses. A minor mistake in the final prevented an even higher placing.

Following this, the stallion moved into the training stable of Lisa Lindner, where his success story continued. By the end of 2025, he had recorded five wins and three second-place finishes in tests up to medium (M) level. The highlight of his 2025 season was undoubtedly his successful participation at the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses in Verden, where he and Lisa finished 7th in the final.

Proven Sire Quality

Escaneno is equally convincing as a sire. From his first licensing crop, eight sons were licensed—an impressive testament to his hereditary strength. His offspring stand out for type, movement quality, and modern athleticism, producing champions at foal shows and numerous high-priced auction horses at renowned sales venues.

A Dam Line of Distinction

His dam Vaiana represents the very foundation of the Schult dressage breeding program. She was Reserve Champion Mare in Wickrath and part of the winning family at the Herwart von der Decken Show in Verden in 2019.

Vaiana is a daughter of the State Premium Mare Reine Freude by Ravallo. Reine Freude is also the dam of the NRW Champion Stallion and foundation sire Fidertanz, whose influence has significantly shaped modern dressage breeding.

Through his damsire Veneno, Escaneno further combines valuable performance bloodlines that began their successful sporting and breeding careers at Hengststation Schult.
