ESCANENO – A Stallion with Exceptional Riding Horse Qualities

ESCANENO is a stallion with outstanding riding horse qualities. The stallion, bred by Schult and jointly owned by Klosterhof Medingen and Tobias Schult, has demonstrated his extraordinary potential multiple times in his sport tests.

This also led to Escaneno being awarded the prestigious Weltmeyer Prize by the Hannoveraner Verband in front of a large audience at the Privathengstschau in Verden in early February.

Outstanding Performance in Tests and Championships

• 2022: Short Performance Test Champion, finishing with a weighted final score of 9.03.

  • Individual scores:
    • Trot: 9.0
    • Canter: 8.5
    • Walk: 8.3
    • Rideability: 9.8
    • Willingness to Perform: 9.5

• 2023: Best Stallion in the Sport Test, scoring 9.5 for rideability and a weighted final score of 9.09.

• 2024: Once again top marks with a final score of 8.97:

At the Hannoveraner Riding Horse Championship in Verden in August 2023, Escaneno secured his ticket to Warendorf.

Under the saddle of Jacob Schenk, the Escamillo son delivered an impressive performance in just his third competition start, finishing as Vice Champion with a total final score of 8.36:

• Trot: 8.8
• Walk: 8.5
• Canter: 8.0
• Suppleness: 8.2
• Overall Impression: 8.3

This was already Escaneno’s second qualification for the Bundeschampionat 2024. He had previously secured his Warendorf ticket in his first competition in Neustadt/Dosse in July, winning with a score of 8.56.

At the Bundeschampionat 2024, Escaneno and Jacob Schenk placed 5th in the final qualification for five-year-old dressage horses.
A small mistake in the final, caused by going off course, resulted in a deduction and prevented an even better placement.

A Unique Pedigree with Breeding Significance

ESCANENO is special in many ways.

His sire, ESCAMILLO, and dam’s sire, VENENO, both started their careers as successful sport horses and sires at our stallion station in Hünxe.

Now, ESCANENO is writing a new chapter of success.

His granddam, St.Pr.St. REINE FREUDE (Ravallo x Frühlingstraum), is an outstanding producer in breeding.

At the Herwart von der Decken Show 2021, three of her daughters were awarded as the best mare family – a prestigious title granted only every four years.
One of these mares is VAIANA, Escaneno’s dam!

The most renowned son of REINE FREUDE is FIDERTANZ, who was named Hannoveraner Stallion of the Year 2021.

ESCANENO combines many valuable qualities that are not only important to us but also significant for the entire sport horse breeding industry.

His dam line has produced numerous successful Grand Prix horses, both in dressage and show jumping.

Breeding Success and Promising Future Prospects

ESCANENO’s first foal crop in 2023 caused a stir in the industry, with numerous auction foals fetching top prices at prestigious auction venues.

His offspring continued to be highly sought-after in 2024.
A clear testament to his breeding value: ESCANENO was the stallion with the most auction foals at both the Rhineland Studbook Foal Auctions and the Westphalian Foal Auctions 2024.

There are many reasons to look optimistically toward the future.
Both in sport and breeding, the prospects for ESCANENO are outstanding.
