BALOUS BELLINI - CORNET OBOLENSKY

Westphalian · bay · 2021 · Height: 166 cm

Description

Blockbuster II will enrich the collection of show jumping stallions at Hengststation Schult, and we naturally hope that the reserve winner of the Westphalian Main Licensing 2023 will follow in the big footsteps of his full brother, Blockbuster.

The foundations for Blockbuster’s great sporting successes were laid here with us in Hünxe. Carolina Heinze promoted him up to class S**, before he changed to the training of Marco Kutscher in 2020 and was successful in major sports, with several placements in Grand Prix at an international level.

At the Westphalian Main Licensing 2023, Blockbuster II proved his qualities from the first jump. With a lot of foresight – even on the last day, when only one jump was left in the arena and the stallion had to make it fit himself – he always continued in perfect manner what he had already shown during the pre-selection.

At first glance, the son of Balous Bellini also captivates with his exceptional type expression.

His father Balous Bellini was among the standout horses of the international Youngster Tour under Lutz Gripshöver and was later successful up to class S* with Philipp Winkelhaus.

Balous Bellini’s offspring’s lifetime earnings amount to more than 314,000 euros. He is the father of 13 approved stallions and 10 premium and state premium mares.

His father Balou du Rouet is considered a hallmark stallion of international esteem. 175 of his offspring are already successful in class S.

The high-caliber sires are matched by the dam’s side. Blockbuster’s mother is a daughter of Cornet Obolensky, who caused a sensation in sports under Marco Kutscher. At the end of the sports career of the Clinton son, he could show a winning sum of 799,952 euros.

Among Cornet Obolensky’s greatest successes are the team gold medal at the European Championships 2011 and the victory at the World Cup jumping of Zurich 2012. Moreover, the successful pair contributed to the victories of the German team in the Samsung Super League final 2008 in Barcelona as well as in the Nations Cups of Rotterdam 2008, 2011, and 2012 and Rome 2012.

Even greater are the merits of Cornet Obolensky in breeding. The numbers speak for themselves: 117 approved stallions, 678 registered breeding mares, 60 premium and state premium mares, 1655 registered sport offspring, 338 of them in S-jumping, an offspring lifetime earnings of 12,549,140 euros, of which 440,888 euros in 2023.

The further mare lineage goes back to Pit and his father Pilot. The son of Pilatus has done invaluable work for Westphalian breeding and rightly received a place as a bronze statue at the Westphalian Horse Center.

As a breeding stallion, Pilot was extraordinarily successful. When he was 16 years old, his offspring had already won more than one million German Marks. Thus, Pilot is considered the youngest offspring earnings millionaire in history. As a breeding stallion, he is the founder of a stallion line with 85 approved sons. He can boast 783 registered sport offspring, of which 231 excelled in S-jumping. The winning sum of his offspring amounts to nearly 4 million euros!

The sport qualities hinted at so far of Blockbuster II, packaged in a highly modern sport horse type combined with a pedigree beyond any doubt, as well as the successes of his full brother, create a total package that reveals the best prospects for breeding and sport.
