Blockbuster II is well on his way to excelling both in sport and breeding. The Westphalian reserve champion of the 2023 licensing successfully completed the 50-day stallion performance test in Adelheidsdorf in November 2024 with a jumping-focused final score of 8.39 – the third-best rating among 31 stallions.

Outstanding Scores in the Performance Test

The son of Balous Bellini out of a Cornet Obolensky dam, bred by Hubert Waning, received:

• 9.0 for interior, character, and willingness to perform
• 8.75 from test riders for rideability
• 8.50 for scope, technique, and overall impression

Early Sporting Success

The foundation for his sporting career was laid in Hünxe. Carolina Heinze trained him up to S** level before he moved to Marco Kutscher’s stables in 2020. With Kutscher, Blockbuster II achieved numerous placings in international Grand Prix competitions.

At the 2023 Westphalian main licensing, Blockbuster II showcased his qualities from the outset. On the final day, with only one jump left in the arena, he demonstrated his intelligence and technique by finding the perfect distance on his own.

Exceptional Pedigree

His sire Balous Bellini was one of the top horses on the international Youngster Tour under Lutz Gripshöver and later competed successfully at S* level with Philipp Winkelhaus. He has sired 249 successful sport horses and 17 licensed sons. His grandsire Balou du Rouet is considered one of the most influential sires worldwide.

The dam line is equally impressive: Blockbuster’s dam is a daughter of the legendary Cornet Obolensky, who made waves in international sport with Marco Kutscher. His career earnings amounted to €799,952.
