With two of our stallions, we set off for Warendorf to the Bundeschampionate, and when one returns to Hünxe as the Bundeschampion, and the second one reaches the finals, we must be more than satisfied.
Escaneno and Jacob Schenk placed 5th in the final qualification of the five-year-old dressage horses. We were hoping for a good performance in the final on Sunday as well. However, a small mistake due to an incorrect route led to a deduction in points, costing a better placement.
Escaneno’s stable neighbor, Lindenberg, achieved much greater success. The four-year-old Libertad son, out of a mare by Destano, was bred by Sabine and Hans-Heinrich Maak and is owned by Annelie Brunckhorst and Dr. Frederic Bünger. Once again piloted by the busy Jacob Schenk, Lindenberg placed 2nd in the final qualification with a score of 8.60 (Trot 9.00, Canter 8.00, Walk 8.00, Rideability 8.50, Conformation and Build Quality 9.50).
On Saturday in the final, the stunning black-bay once again presented himself in top form, leaving an even better impression than in the qualification round. He improved his canter score by 0.50 and received an overall score of 8.80, which secured him the Bundeschampion title.
There was, of course, great joy among the entire team – and the breeders also have reason to celebrate, as Lindenberg will be available for breeding through our stallion station in the 2025 breeding season.
We are always very pleased to celebrate the successes of our breeders, and here are two more medal winners to mention!
Gold was awarded to Quentin, the seven-year-old son of Quotenkönig out of a mare by Lord Loxley I. The gelding was bred by Stefan Carl Gebauer, to whom we extend our congratulations, as well as to Gestüt Pramwaldhof GmbH as the owner, and rider Bianca Nowag-Aulenbrock.
For a long-standing customer of our house, whom we honored this year at our stallion show, there was also reason to celebrate. The silver medal in the five-year-old eventing horses went to CoolTonic, the daughter of Crusoe out of a mare by Templer. Once again: Congratulations to Helmut Bergendahl as the breeder. CoolTonic is owned by the partnership of Plagmann and Krajewski and was ridden by Julia Krajewski.
Sportpferde Bergendahl was, by the way, represented with four horses from their own breeding program in the five-year-old eventing horses category. Hats off!
Just missed the medal ranks: Sophie Hinners with Abou-Chaker NRW, the seven-year-old son of Alaba out of a mare by Comme il faut NRW. The Westphalian gelding was bred by Otmar Eckermann and is owned by Christian Glanemann. The pair finished in 4th place.
At this point, we would like to give special congratulations to Sophie, as she created a historic moment on Sunday evening in the final competition of this year’s Bundeschampionate, securing gold, silver, and bronze in the six-year-old show jumping horses.
